My How the Time Has Flown By - Jacob is Turning 2!

Saturday we had Jacob's 2nd birthday party.  It's hard to believe our little man is turning 2, time really has flown by and Jacob loves nothing more than airplanes (except maybe food) so we opted for an airplane theme.  I took Friday off of work and transformed our home into an airport for our little man.  I have to say it was an awesome day off, one of the best I had, I had so much fun being creative and of course baking cupcakes.  I was truly in my happy place, maybe one day I can quit corporate America and do this sort of thing full time.  I really enjoyed myself.

I also rented a jumpy house, and if I was ever going to say we really lucked out with the weather, Saturday would be the day.  After an entire week of 20s as our low and 40s as our high, Saturday hit the 60s and was beautiful.  It was a perfect day to bounce and kept all of the kids entertained for hours.  Marc and I even went in to it while the kids were napping.

Jacob had a blast, he loved being sung to and he even blew out his candles on cue (Marc practiced with him).  The best part of my day, after the naps the kids and I went into the bouncy house just the 3 of us and jumped and jumped and jumped.  We laughed and played and I felt like a kid again.  It was an awesome hour of quality time spent with them.  I felt my age again this morning but those memories are priceless in my mind.  It's hard to believe how big my kids are getting, I'm just trying to sneak in every enjoyable moment with them before I'm too embarrassing to be seen with.

Here's some pictures of the day, sorry there are so many, of course our fabulous friend Jimmy took over our camera and capture some great moments for us!

Pahtay!

Saturday was our last day of 4 weeks straight of Saturday birthday parties.  We went over to Riley's friend Sophie's house for a very princess party!  Sophie's mom was super sweet and called and told us that we should bring Jacob too so that we could all come, which was SO nice because I had planned on leaving him home with Marc but Jacob's starting to like a good party.  The kids had a good time, particularly because there was a bouncy house.  I pretty much figured out that all I really need in life to keep my kids happy and busy is a bouncy house for Riley and an ice chest filled with ice for Jacob.  Seriously, at every party we've been to he somehow finds the ice chest and spends about an hour playing with the ice and eating all of the ice.  (Consider this your warning not to use ice from an ice chest if Jacob is at the party with you!)

Best part of the party?  The after party!  Riley took a 2 hour nap and Jacob took a 3 1/2 hour nap and only woke up because Riley was talking really loud outside of his room so that he would wake up and we could go to the mall.

I love this picture of Jacob and how he has his hand on my lap.  He climbed on the chair and patted my leg like he was staking his claim on me.  Love him!

Riley was too busy running around like a crazy person to get any pictures of her!!!

Super Hero Bash

Saturday was Riley's friend Joey's 5th birthday party.  As usual, Jim and Jessica had the most creative birthday party of the year.  It was a super hero themed party complete with tattoos, super hero games, and a super hero sized lunch!  The kids had a blast running around the park and playing games.  Jacob was not a fan of his Hulk Smash tattoo.  He even saw Jessica on Monday at day care, pointed to his tattoo, whined, and shook his head no!  I did teach him to point to his arm and grunt when I say "Hulk Smash!"  He's like an obedient dog!  He'll kill me for saying that one day but he's at a super fun age right now where he'll do anything for a laugh from us.  :)

After 2 days of not eating, Jacob decided to have a little pre-party shmorgushborg

Off to be super heroes, good thing she has her robot on!

Jacob wants to be a super hero too!

Slugger, I'm proud to say pipsqueak hit the ball the second farthest!

Super heroes need snacks too
