Sunday we took he whole family to the Giants game. I've been with Marc, Riley's been with Marc but Jacob hadn't been and we hadn't been as a family so when our Sunday plans fell through, Marc was able to secure 4 tickets for us to go Sunday. We had a great time, we went to the Public House for lunch and then headed up to our seats after a round of batting practice at the kiddie field. Jacob of course ate his way through the baseball game, popcorn, pretzel, ice cream. The boy loves the junk food!

It's A Wrap!
Another t-ball season is in the books, Saturday was Riley's last game and she did great again. She's so into t-ball, I love it. She has the whole hitting and running to first base down and then when she's fielding, she fields the ball and throws to first base, I am so impressed how much she's developed from last year. I'm trying to get her into the Pleasanton Girl's Softball league for the spring but she misses the cutoff day by 12 days so I'm appealing because I think Riley would do great!
Saturday the team got trophies and the kids were all excited. Riley hasn't put it down since she got it, she even tried to bring it into Costco with us after her game and napped with it.

Once A Year
We took the kids to the Giants game on Sunday, let's just say now I know why we only do it about once a year with both of them, it was EXHAUSTING! We had a great time though and the weather was nice, we were actually hot! The kids were all about the food and it was the day where fans can bring their dogs to the ball park so Jacob was all about the dogs! He also tried to drop sippy cups over the ledge the whole game which was fun for me to try to stop. The most famous dog that we saw? Willie Mays dog. We got to ride in the elevator with him when we got there. I even caught him from falling over as he was getting out of the elevator. He lost his balance and I grabbed him and stabilized him. Marc spent the day saying "Wait did you catch Millie Mays today?" Fun times, but I think we'll wait until next season to do it again!

Daddy Is So Proud
Riley had a birthday party this past weekend at an indoor sports complex so we all went along since her friend Joey was going to be there with his brother Alex, whom Jacob adores. Alex is about 6 months older than Jacob but still in his class and Jacob just adores him, he even says "Aleh" when he sees him. On a side note, the party was for Riley's friend Vishruth, I didn't know they were such good friends but both his mom and dad came up to us and told us how glad they were to see Riley, that Vishruth only asked for "one pretty girl, Riley, to be at his party" and that he would have been upset if she couldn't be there. And that Riley is the most popular girl in class, it was so sweet to hear such nice things about her, I guess we really see the worst of her but at school she truly behaves and is liked. It pretty much made my day!
Anyway, he had his party on an indoor baseball field and since Jacob is beyond obsessed with balls he had a blast. We caught these pics of Jake-os double-fisting the baseballs by home plate, daddy was so proud!

Slugger
Now batting (lefty), RILEY ZIMMERMAN!
Sorry for the chainlink fence, I'm not allowed on the field (Marc's rules, not the league's!) :)
PS She throws right handed but bats left, Marc wants her to be a switch hitter but as you can see from the video, we need to work on her running the bases first! But still a pretty solid hit from a little girl!

Play Ball!
We signed Riley up for a 3-5 year old tee ball league through our city and Saturday was her first day. Marc and I were super excited, we all know how Marc feels about baseball and I loved playing softball as a little girl. We got team assignments and schedule on Friday and Riley was put on the A's. Marc was super upset and hopes that she doesn't become an A's fan! Ha! She did very well for her first practice/game. She learned how to field a grounder, not to play with the sand on the in field (all of the kids were obsessed with kicking and picking it up) and got a great at bat! As luck would have it she played her friend Ryan and our neighbor Clay's team so that was a fun way to start the season!

Batter up!
Practicing her swing for Coach Matt
This would have been a perfect picture if her coach wasn't in the way, ball on the left and bat extended, she had a good shot!
Running to first, we need to work on her running after making contact and not watching where the ball goes first
Good in fielding form!
High-fiving the Cubs after the game, it was so cute!

Father's Day Fun
or should I stay fail!?! Riley and I decided to take Marc to the Giants game for Father's Day, they happened to be playing in Oakland so it was a little more convenient than schlepping to the city. Unfortunately, it started at 1:00 which is right in the middle of Riley's nap so we had to leave at 11:00 which meant that there was no nap for Riley. Riley was awesome on BART. She was great when we sat down for lunch and then it went downhill from there. Marc and I spent the majority of the game taking turns walking around with Riley. By the 7th inning it was major meltdown mode and time for us to leave. Riley fell asleep sitting up on the BART train, 5 minutes before we got to our stop. Naturally! Lesson learned: Riley + No Nap = Major Fail!
The win of the day was Nachos! We ordered some so share and Riley LOVED them, I have never seen the girl eat so much, she couldn't get enough and even ate the chicken that were on them!

More CA Fun in the Sun
Sunday was about as gorgeous as Saturday so after lunch I let Riley go outback to play. We have a running joke between Marc, Riley and myself about how I always say no to outside. Marc will ask Riley what a dog says and she says "woof" and a kitty cat and she says "meow" and when he asks her what Mommy says she'll say "outside no." Apparently I say no a lot to going outside but to my defense it's dark outside now when we get home from work/school and it's been cold and rainy. So while we were eating lunch I suggested that when Riley was done eating that we go play outside for a bit since Daddy was watching football. She looked stunned and then answered with an enthusiastic "Yesh!" So we headed outside, it was quite warm out, I had to take off my sweater and I was still warm in a t-shirt! Riley had fun playing outside! Marc bought her a pink tee and bat this weekend so we took it out to play, she's a natural!
Riley loves her new tee and bat, it appears that Riley is right handed which is interesting because Marc and I are both left handed.
Marc was pretty excited that Riley took to her batting like a natural, now we need a mitt!

Beach Day
I know, who goes to the beach in November, but that's how we roll in Cali! While my friends in Indiana and the Midwest got their first snow, we were hanging at the beach, and that is why we pay so much to live in this beautiful state! Instead of shoveling show off of our cars or our driveways, we were shaking sand from our clothes.
Today we went into the city to meet up with our friends, the Goines', Marc and Jenny's mutual friend Lindsay was in town from Arizona so we headed out to meet up for a fun day at the beach. We were hoping to make it into the city in time to meet them at the zoo but our cleaning lady was late so we missed that but Lindsay was super nice enough to buy Riley a stuffed monkey. So super sweet. We headed over to Ocean Beach for a picnic lunch and some sand play! Riley and Jake had a blast playing in the sand, they both also got a few mouthfuls of sand as well, Jake because he was being silly, Riley because she saw a doggy eating something out of the sand.
