Annual Trek

We made our annual trek to Joan's Farm this weekend.  It was H-O-T!  I have a fundamental issue with it being 97 degrees in mid-October and picking out pumpkins.  You're supposed to be drinking Pumpkin Spice Lattes, wearing sweaters and feeling the crisp Fall air at pumpkin patch but instead we sweated.  But I digress, the kids have fun and that's all that matters.  Of course they wanted to ride the train.  Riley rode the ponies right off the bat but Jacob was scared.  Jacob was actually scared to go to the pumpkin patch once we got there, he's "scared Halloween" thanks to all of the creepy decorations at Safeway (reason 5000 I hate Safeway) but I convinced him it wasn't scary and we should check it out, once he saw the miles of pumpkins he was good to go.  After Riley rode the pony he decided he wanted to try and he "promised" he wouldn't be scared.  Welly my baby boy has certainly grown up because he was not scared one bit.  He was so proud of his big boy status telling me over and over that he had fun and he wasn't scared.  Ri of course had a blast and was kind enough to humor us with taking our normal pictures.

We ran into Ri's friend Eli at the Pumpkin Patch

Jacob was still unsure about this pumpkin patch thing

Love these two

One Last Visit

We made one last visit to Joan's Pumpkin Patch on Sunday.  Ri's play group was having a play date there and since we didn't do the rides last time we decided to go.  I told them no more pumpkins since we had already gotten them and surprisingly no one tried to talk me into another pumpkin (oh and did I mention that Jacob learned the word "no" this week and it is officially his new favorite word???)  The kids had so much fun on the rides and Jacob saw two little boys from his class there so he was excited to see two of his friends.  Jacob even had his brave pants on and rode the train with Riley.  (I rode in the tractor part in case he freaked out but no tears).

Looking at the horses!

She loves horse rides

Riley made Jacob brave!  No tears on the train

It's A Tradition

Last weekend we made our annual trip to Joan's Pumpkin Farm in Livermore.  We squeezed it in before t-ball so we didn't get to do rides but we got our pumpkins, took our favorite pictures and were on on merry way.  We went right when it opened and it was great, not too crowed.  Jacob is OBSESSED with pumpkins so he was all over the place trying to pick up every pumpkin that he came in contact with.

Pumpkin Patch

Sunday we made our way to our favorite pumpkin patch, Joan's Farm and Pumpkin Patch in Livermore.  We've been going since Riley's first Halloween and this year did not disappoint.  It was super packed but we still scored some good pumpkins, Riley worked fast and within the first 5 minutes that we were there she picked the perfect pumpkins for herself and Jacob then the search began for our big family pumpkin.

So excited to be at the Pumpkin Patch

Heading to the patch

Riley's and Jacob's pumpkins

Getting so big she can "almost touch the sky"

Marc wants to know if she will still take this picture with him when she's 20!

We found our favorite "boo" sign!

Jacob's turn, first trip to the pumpkin patch!

Not so sure about these round orange things

A view of the farm

It was quite chilly and windy on Sunday so we let Riley choose one ride to go on since I didn't want Jacob outside  for that long, plus Riley has had a cold for a couple of weeks now too.  Instead of the pony ride she chose to ride the choo choo train!

Waiting for the choo choo

All aboard!!!

My girl is all grown up!

That's a wrap!

Successful day at the pumpkin patch!
