Playdates

Jacob is finally showing interest in being sociable and has been asking for a play date with his friend Isaac from school.  So last weekend we met at the park (early to beat the 100 weather) for a playdate.  I let Riley tag along because Isaac's older sister is Riley's age, it was a fun, albeit hot day!

After a morning at the park, we headed to meet Joey and Alex for lunch!  My busy bees!

Best buds!

These four, so much fun!

I don't know about these two...they are pretty darn cute together!!!

One Last Visit

We made one last visit to Joan's Pumpkin Patch on Sunday.  Ri's play group was having a play date there and since we didn't do the rides last time we decided to go.  I told them no more pumpkins since we had already gotten them and surprisingly no one tried to talk me into another pumpkin (oh and did I mention that Jacob learned the word "no" this week and it is officially his new favorite word???)  The kids had so much fun on the rides and Jacob saw two little boys from his class there so he was excited to see two of his friends.  Jacob even had his brave pants on and rode the train with Riley.  (I rode in the tractor part in case he freaked out but no tears).

Looking at the horses!

She loves horse rides

Riley made Jacob brave!  No tears on the train

And the Celebration Continues

Saturday Riley started her first non-parent participation class at gymnastics.  We weren't sure how it would go but it went great!!!  Riley was so proud of herself doing all of the activities by herself and would yell across the gym "I did it myself!"  She even did the balance beam by herself which I have been fighting her to do for months in the parent participation class.  We are SO proud of our big girl!!!

After gymnastics we headed to the park down the street for Riley's monthly playdate with her friends from KinderCare, alot of them no longer go there but we all stay in touch and get together monthly.  This month, since the weather has been so nice we met at the park down the street.  I made a cake (thanks to Betty Crocker, I really wanted to make cake pops but I ran out of time) so that we could celebrate with all of her friends.

One more celebration is in store, her "real" party is on the 28th and it's a Dora theme (big shock) at a gymnastics place!

Busy Bees

I seriously don't know where the time has gone but somehow the weekends are slipping away!  Two weekends ago we had a very busy social Saturday.  We started the day off with our weekly trek to gymnastics and then we headed to Super Franks (like Chuck E Cheese) for a play date with Riley's friend Joey from school.  When I told Riley we were going to a play date with Joey, she said "But I didn't bring my bathing suit!"  She associated playing with Joey outside of school with his birthday party which was a pool party.  Too funny!  We had lots of fun at Super Franks with Joey and his parents and his baby brother Alex.  Joey and Riley get along so well!

Then on the way home, Marc said to me, "why don't we invite Bella and her parents over for dinner and to watch the Stanford game?"  I was like, "Who are you and what have you done with my husband, Mr Social Butterfly."  So we got in touch with Bella's parents and sure enough, they were free so they came over for some pizza and wine while the girls played.

Play Date

Sunday we met up with the Goines' in Emeryville for some lunch.  It had been a few months since Riley and Jake had seen each other and it took them both a few minutes to get over their shyness, but once they did they took to each other like peanut butter and jelly!  They were so cute calling each other by name and telling each other to "come here."  They even insisted on holding each other hands walking down the steps.  It's so fun to watch them interact and talk to each other now, I have a feeling they are going to be good super good buddies!

I think Jake likes his computer!

Silly girl!

Riley's New Ride

Riley has a new ride to roll around Dub-town in, we actually got it a few weeks ago but I didn't have time to blog while Marc was in Japan this past week.  Last weekend the weather was gorgeous so we took her new wagon out, it's a gigantic hit.  Last Saturday we went for our weekly walk with our neighbors Shari and Ryan and Riley and Ryan rode in the wagon for the first time, it was a huge hit with both kids.  Riley and Ryan were giggling and talking to each other the entire time, it was absolutely adorable!  And they even stayed strapped into the wagon the whole time we were at Peet's so Shari and I could enjoy our coffee without chasing them around!

Testing out her new ride

Riley do it!

Her innaugural ride, Puppy came too!

Best Play Date Ever!

For Mommy and Daddy that is!  Today our fav winery in Livermore had a release party.  One of Riley's friend's parents are also wine members there so we made plans to meet up with them and Isabella and Riley so that we could do the wine tasting and the girls could play.  Mitchell Katz is a super kid friendly winery and they have a huge lawn out front for the girls to run around.  Us parents had a great time and so did the girls!

Riley and Isabella chilling on the lawn

Chillaxing in the sun (a total lady!)

Hanging on a wine barrel with Marcellis, the king of barrel tasting!
