Adults Only Vacation

That makes this post sound dirty, but I promise it's not.  Marc and I just got back from 5 days in Cancun.  Last time I was in Cancun was for Spring Break my Junior year of college, I can assure you that this trip was way classier and it was complete with a swim-up pool bar.  My new favorite drink is the Mexican Ice Beer which I am hell bent on re-marketing as a beer-arita, it's half beer/half margarita and oh so delicious!

We went for Marc's step-sister Jaclyn's wedding and we had a super great time.  We were originally going to bring the kids but when Jill and Edwin decided not to bring Max, we decided not to bring Riley and Jacob, which turned out well since Riley would have been miserable in her cast.  My parents came up and stayed with the kids, so while Marc and I came back relaxed (sans the cold I brought back with me) my parents probably left completely exhausted!  We decided since it was just the two of us and it had been almost 4 years since our last kids free vacation that we would go all out, we used mileage to fly there and went First Class, which was awesome for such a long flight.  We also got an ocean view room which was nice, we had great views of the pool and beach.  The weather was decent, it was hot but not unbearable and the first two days it rained at night so it didn't impact our pool time at all.  We stayed at a Dreams all-inclusive resort which is where the wedding was and it was great.  My favorite was the infinity pool, they had these foam mats that you could get and lounge on the mats in the wading areas, it was glorious.  We even got a couple of workouts in a day at the gym there (yes, my husband made me go workout with him twice a day so that he could eat and drink as much as he wanted, it was all inclusive).  Unfortunately the last full day that we were there, it poured, like I've never seen it pour.  For 13 hours it torrentially down poured, with thunder and lightening like I have never seen before.  It was also wedding day so poor Jaclyn had to move her wedding indoors, it was still a fantastic fun time though!  I even managed to finish a book (Sisterhood Everlasting) and read a new book in it's entirety (Gone Girl, which was fantastic!)!  Unheard of!  All in all, it was a much needed break though next time I would love to bring the kids.
