The Little Mermaid

Ariel is by far Riley's favorite princess and she is beyond obsessed with her so when I found a website on Pinterest that streams Disney movies for FREE, I had to check it out since The Little Mermaid is in the vault and I was dying for Riley to actually see it.  (I do believe it's being released this fall but that seems so far away).  We set up the movie on our iPad and streamed it to our Apple TV and Riley was besides her self with excitement, she couldn't believe that she could finally watch Ariel!  Her favorite song is "Look at this stuff" and she walks around singing it everywhere so when it came on during the movie she couldn't help but get up and sing and dance to it.  We all actually walk around singing it since she loves it so much, I actually wake up in the middle of the night with it stuck in my head, seriously, that's how obsessed she is with it!

Slippery Fish

Riley is somehow obsessed with dolphins, a few weeks ago she told me that she wanted to go swimming with dolphins. I have no idea how she knows dolphins go swimming, she must have learned about them at school because when we went to look at them at Sea World last November, she was half asleep. I wanted to get free shipping on a book while I was away so I ordered her a dolphin pillow pal. It came Tuesday, along with Tony the Tiger so they became the hit of the night.

And this is the song where the infamous "oh-no" came from, funny how a year ago she just knew the "oh-no" and today she can sing most of the song.

Bieber Fever

Riley has been singing Justin Bieber for a few days now, she must have picked it up from my Glee CD.  She sang it the whole way home from day care, getting out of the bath, and coming down the stairs.  I caught her on video twice, before and during dinner and then she proceeded to sing it as we put her to bed.  When we try to sing with her, she tells us "No stop!!!"

Riley's a Bieliber!

Next American Idol?

Probably not, but Riley singing sure is cute!  She loves to sing these days, in fact when Marc was in Japan, Riley woke me up a few days with her singing in bed and she's constantly singing in the back of the car.  Some of her favorites:  The "ABCDs" (Ri doesn't like to leave out "D"), "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," "5 Little Monkeys," and "Happy Birthday."  Here's a sampling of her singing, I'm pretty sure the judges would tell her she needs more work dawg, her voice gets really deep when she sings for some reason, especially when she sings "Happy Birthday!"  She loves singing "Happy Birthday" to all of her friends, here she's singing to my friend Lori, and no it's not Lori's birhday.

My Turn

With all of the excitement of Riley's birthday, mine gets lost!  But it's true, my birthday is 5 days after Riley's so yesterday I celebrated my 32nd birthday!  Wow!  How did I get so old!  :)  We mostly celebrated on Sunday since both Marc and I had to work on Monday and we really needed to get Riley back into her day care routine (she's been having a hard time with transitioning to the 2s room).  Sunday started off with me sleeping past 8AM for the the first time in probably 2 1/2 years, then I got up and went for a run for the first time since before I was pregnant with Riley!  Clearly I am extremely sore this week but it felt great to get running again and I am so looking forward to my jeans fitting better!  After we all got dressed went up to Walnut Creek since this weekend was beautiful, Saturday it was in the mid-60s here.  We did some shopping, had lunch, picked up dinner and headed home to get ready for the week.  My actual birthday (Monday) was good, my whole office went out to lunch for my birthday and then I took the afternoon off, worked out, made some cookies, got Riley early and had some sushi for dinner!  I'm looking forward to 32 being a better, luckier year for us!

Here's a video of Riley singing me Happy Birthday, she loves to sing Happy Birthday!  Usually she sings it to herself, lots of times to Nate, and every so often to me.  This is her generic version!

Riley being silly!

They opened a Kara's Cupcakes in Walnut Creek so of course we stopped!

Salted Chocolate Caramel, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Java and Vanilla!

Flowers from Riley and Marc.  Marc had Riley go with him to the garage and had Riley carry them in and say "Happy Birthday Mommy!"  It was so cute, she followed the instructions perfectly!
At lunch in Walnut Creek

Love my pink flowers!

Say cheese Mommy!  Riley loves to take pictures!

Daddy's turn for the "Rileyrazzi!"

Peek-A-Boo, I see you!  She was supposed to be napping!

All Aboard Choo Choo Train

Riley has been obsessed with saying "All aboard choo choo train" lately, it's a song that comes on sometimes after Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse and lately she just wants me to fast forward to the end of Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse to see if her Choo Choo Train song is on.  She hasn't seen it all that much so I'm thinking maybe they play it at school too.  2 days later and about 10 episodes of Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse we still didn't find the song so I decided to check online, you can find everything there right?  :)  Sure enough there on YouTube was her song from "Choo Choo Soul,"  Riley isn't so much interested in the rest of the song, just the beginning.  Marc and I were cracking up, this is the one video he got where I wasn't dying from laughter! :)  Riley has MAD dance moves!

ABCs and 123s

The amount that Riley knows astounds Marc and I everyday. Monday night Marc was able to come home early, he says he didn't feel well but I think he had a case of the Giants were in the World Series! :) Anyway, he was home when I got home with Riley and we were organizing the kitchen and Riley was playing her Leapfrog ABC magnetic game on the fridge. She would push the button and then go stand in the middle of the kitchen and sing along to the ABC song and dance to it. Of course when I went to record it she migrated to changing her baby's diaper (and when I went to record that she migrated to her kitchen, story of my life, she never performs on command. I need to train her better at that!). But at dinner I was able to capture a bit of her ABCs and 123s, the #3 got lost in her bean burrito, I mean who can compete with a bean and cheese burrito!?!

The other morning I was carrying her downstairs and she, out of no where, said "1, 2, free!" I was so excited that she counted she continued to count to "free" all the way to day care!
